Retraction statement
The article entitled “Influence of a garlic-based additive on the performance parameters and intestinal morphology of replacement gilts in Ukraine under commercial conditions” published in Veterinary World
2026;19(3):1229–1245; DOI: 10.14202/vetworld.2026.1229-1245, is retracted following a request from Anna Lykhach and an assessment by the Editor-in-Chief.
During the post-publication review, the authors acknowledged that the performance results had previously been published in 2024 and 2025 and that each group comprised 40 animals rather than the reported 80. The reuse of these results had not been adequately disclosed in the article. The consequences of the ongoing war in Ukraine have created objective circumstances that prevent comprehensive retrospective verification of the study's supporting documentation and records. These circumstances have limited the authors' ability to undertake the documentary verification necessary to substantiate the published research.
Following consideration of the authors' request and the circumstances described, the Editor-in-Chief approved the retraction to maintain the integrity and transparency of the scientific record.
This retraction reflects limitations in the retrospective verification of the study's documentation arising from the ongoing war in Ukraine. It does not, in itself, establish research misconduct or deliberate misrepresentation by the authors.
All authors agreed to the retraction.
The original article remains accessible to preserve the scholarly record and is prominently identified as
RETRACTED. This notice is permanently linked to the original article.
